Global Warming - Mark Maslin

Colin Baxter Photography

Planet Earth is warming faster than at any other time int he past 1000 years. It is the greatest threat to face humantity, and also humanity's greatest ever challenge. Global warming is being caused by human activities, which have led to ever-greater levels of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere. This will have wide-ranging and devastating effects on the natural environment, human society and on the world economy.

Mark Maslin explains what global warming is and the evidence that it is really happening. The book examines the impact that it will have on health, agriculture, water resources, coastal regions, forests and wildlife. He also looks at the efforts being made to counteract the effects of global warming, and at the ways in which we can adapt to climate change.
