Workshops  

The BUHRC organises specialist workshops on natural hazards and related themes. While some workshops may be open to all, the Centre also offers a tailor made service, and is able to arrange private workshops and seminars on a broad range of hazard and risk related issues for industry, government, and other institutions. Workshop contributors are established specialists drawn from both academia and industry.

Recent previous workshops organised by the Centre focused on:

Current workshops include:

STORM FORCE: What’s New on the Windstorm Front?

With the recent onset of the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season and major losses resulting from storms across Europe earlier this year, windstorm remains a key issue within the re/insurance market. To keep up to date with the latest research findings and model updates, Benfield UCL Hazard Research Centre will be hosting a one day seminar in association with the Under 35s Reinsurance Group focusing on windstorm in its various forms.
