April 1993 to date: Teaching Physical Geography and Geology at Cranleigh School. Also Senior Housemaster. From April 2006, Part Time PhD topic: Slope and caldera stability studies on previously unknown submarine volcanoes in the Kermadec trench (supervisors: Bill McGuire, UCL & Ian Wright, NIWA)

1990 – 1993: Spectrum Geophysics: Divisional Manager, Seismic data processing for Oil & Gas industry.

1985-1990: GEC/IOS, project manager & chief geologist for GLORIA deep sea mapping programme- worldwide

1983-1985: Marine Geophysicist with Hunting Surveys Ltd.
