Short curriculum vitae

Stephen Edwards is the first Development Manager at the Benfield UCL Hazard Research Centre, a position that utilises his expertise in Earth science, hazardous natural processes, interdisciplinary project development and management, education, and communication of science to professionals and the public. Stephen is well travelled, having undertaken university teaching and research throughout the world. Following completion of his PhD as a Commonwealth Scholar in Canada, he held lectureships in Earth science at Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Greenwich, and a visiting professorship in Earth science at the University of Papua New Guinea. Stephen is a Fellow of the Geological Society of London and the Higher Education Academy, and a member of the Earth Science Teachers’ Association and the editorial board of Geology Today.
